Kiptanui Kogei is the Country Director – Kenya at Udgoon Sustainable Development Initiative(USDI), a woman and child-focused non-governmental organization committed to fostering self-reliance and dignity among vulnerable communities. In this capacity, he provides strategic leadership, ensuring USDI’s programs align with its vision of a world where everyone enjoys equal access to resources and opportunities. His role involves overseeing program implementation, strengthening partnerships, and driving policy advocacy to enhance community empowerment and resilience. Kogei is dedicated to promoting sustainable development solutions in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) by working closely with local populations, authorities, and partners. Under his leadership, USDI implements a holistic approach across Climate Action and Livelihood Resilience, Education, Health, Nutrition, and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH), Peacebuilding, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), Social Accountability, and Emergency Response. His focus on integrity and excellence ensures that interventions are impactful, inclusive, and sustainable. As an advocate for constructive change, Kogei is committed to elevating local voices, fostering community-driven solutions, and championing democratic principles in governance and
development. He is known for his proactive leadership in strengthening resilience among
marginalized populations, particularly women, youth and children. Kogei graduated from Maseno University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and information technology (IT), equipping him with expertise in policy analysis, digital tools for development, and governance strategies.
