Pillar 2 : Resilience, Climate Action and Livelihoods
This pillar aims to build adaptive capacities of communities to respond to shocks, recover from crises, and sustainably manage natural resources.
Thematic Areas
Climate Action and Livelihood Resilience: USDI supports community-driven climate adaptation, including sustainable agriculture, reforestation, renewable energy, kitchen gardening, and green entrepreneurship. Activities prioritize women and youth as key agents of change in building climate-resilient economies.
Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion: By engaging traditional leaders, peace committees, women, youth, and cross-border actors, USDI facilitates dialogue, mediation, and reconciliation efforts to reduce violence and prevent resource-based and identity-related conflicts.
