Over a six-month period, USDI with support from Forum Civ implemented a transformative project aimed at enhancing the capacity of various stakeholders in Garissa Town. The focus of the project was to deepen understanding and application of national and international human rights laws in the administration of cases related to sexual violence. The project targeted duty bearers, traditional and religious leaders, women groups, and civil society organizations (CSOs) in the region, with a total of 250 beneficiaries.

Outcome 1

Increased Awareness: The project contributed to a significant increase in awareness and understanding of national and international human rights laws related to sexual violence among the targeted stakeholders.

Outcome 2

Improved Collaboration: Stakeholders demonstrated enhanced collaboration and coordination in addressing sexual violence cases, creating a more comprehensive and supportive network for survivors.

Outcome 3

Empowered Stakeholders: Participants reported feeling more empowered and confident in their roles, applying their knowledge of human rights laws to better advocate for and protect the rights of survivors.
