Aisha Hassan Abdi is USDI’s Chairperson. As the head of the board, she plays a crucial role in setting the strategic direction, guiding decision-making processes, and fostering a collaborative and productive board environment contributing significantly to the organization's impact and sustainability.

As a youth, Aisha brings a unique perspective that fosters innovation and inclusivity. Her academic background in Actuarial Science equips her with a strong quantitative background that she seamlessly integrates into her leadership role.

Aisha is a committed humanitarian having previously served at  FaIDA in Dadaab, where she played a pivotal role in addressing the needs of refugees and contributing to the development of the host community.
