Pillar 2 : Resilience, Climate Action and Livelihoods

  • This pillar aims to build adaptive capacities of communities to respond to shocks, recover from crises, and sustainably manage natural resources.

Thematic Areas

  • Climate Action and Livelihood Resilience:
USDI supports community-driven climate adaptation, including sustainable agriculture, reforestation, renewable energy, kitchen gardening, and green entrepreneurship. Activities prioritize women and youth as key agents of change in building climate-resilient economies.
  • Peacebuilding and Social Cohesion:
By engaging traditional leaders, peace committees, women, youth, and cross-border actors, USDI facilitates dialogue, mediation, and reconciliation efforts to reduce violence and prevent resource-based and identity-related conflicts.
